Police: Cynthiana man charged after driving with BAC four times legal limit


DUBOIS COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – The Huntingburg Police Department said a Cynthiana man was arrested Saturday for driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content four times the legal limit.

Police said 45 year old James Ashley was swerving on US 231 and crossing the center line around 4:30 p.m.

We’re told an officer tried to pull Ashley over, but he failed to stop for almost a mile.

Authorities said he eventually stopped and officers shutdown US 231.

Officers took Ashley to the Huntingburg Police Department where they said he failed a chemical test.

Authorities tell us Ashley’s blood alcohol content was .321.

Ashley was transported to Memorial Hospital for a medical evaluation.

He is charged with Operating While Intoxicated, Operating While Intoxicated w/ BAC .15 and above, Operating While Intoxicated Endangering, and Resisting Law Enforcement.
