Saturday night around 8:30, the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department says they received information about a car driving erratically on US 41 north of CR 350 South.
A Trooper was in the area when 911 dispatch says they received another call that the vehicle had crashed into the median north of CR 300 South.
When the Trooper arrived, he identified the driver as 41-year-old Timothy Ota of Princeton.
The Trooper reports detecting an odor of alcohol and says he noticed open alcohol containers on the car’s floorboard.
The Trooper says Ota’s eight-month-old son was in the car, restrained in a child safety seat in the back seat.
Ota was transported to Gibson General Hospital where he was treated and released.
The Gibson County Sheriff’s Department says Ota had a blood alcohol content of .15%.
The child was uninjured and was later released to his mother.
Ota is being charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Intoxicated with a Passenger less than 18 years of age.
He was transported to the Gibson County Jail, but was later released after posting bond.
