Those who thought they were putt putt golf masters were put to the test for a good cause Saturday in Evansville.

Walther’s Golf and Fun’s “Putt Putt or Shut Up” event brought a crowd Saturday afternoon, where a foursome could get unlimited access to the links for just $20.

All of the money went to the Boys and Girls Club of Evansville in order to help kids reach their full potential.

Shanna Scheessele, Resource Development Director for the Boys and Girls Club said their goal was to raise between 500-1,000 dollars.

Scheessele said,” “It goes a long way because we spread it out in multiple areas. So we could always use more support to say the least but that 500 to 1000 dollars is going to allow us to continue to stock our pantry for the kids that we serve. And that’s more important, making sure these kids are safe, that they’re receiving a healthy meal. None of them are going to be leaving our doors hungry.”

The event raised more than $600 in four hours.
