OWENSBORO, Ky (WEHT) Kentucky Transportation Officials say they’re working on opening an office this year in Owensboro to issue Real ID’s.
They plan to open a temporary office first while they look for a permanent one somewhere in Owensboro.
The cabinet already has a satellite office in the city.
Owensboro was not on a list of twelve proposed office locations released last year.
“Our team has always been looking at how we can expand to make these available,” said Naitore Djigbenou with the KYTC, “and one of the things that accelerates a timeline is moving into offices that we already operate or that the state owns.”
Another Real ID office is planned for Madisonville.
No official date yet on when the Owensboro location will open.
