Rendering released of future Jefferson Elementary in Henderson

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A new image has been released of what the future Jefferson Elementary School in Henderson will look like.

Hafer Associates is completing the construction drawings.

The new school will be built on the same property as South Middle School, which is also getting some site improvements.

Jefferson was built in 1964, but the last renovations happened in 1994.

“A school that has a central heart to it, that has a learning maker’s space that forms the center of the school, that will be used as a common learning space for the entire school.”

At Monday night’s School Board meeting, Justice said the South Middle School project is out for bids and they’re waiting on a construction contract.

The new elementary school is still in the design phase.
