CHANDLER, Ind (WEHT) A new development in the story involving the longtime, but now closed, Chandler Speedway.
For a year now we’ve been following the story surrounding the racetrack and its now former owner Reno Fontana.
The track sold at a sheriff’s sale for just more than $376,000. This auction was delayed at least three times.
The high bidder’s names and plans for the track were not revealed at the auction.
Fontana is claiming on Facebook that he is still in charge of the raceway.
We reached to Andrew Wilson of Wilson Auction Realty. He says Fontana does not own the track, and was not present at the sale this week.
Wilson says the purchaser is UYA Investment Group and that all creditors have been paid.
