HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The Henderson City-County Planning Commission gave its approval Wednesday for a portion of a major renovation at Ellis Park.
The board approved a site and construction plan for a 61,000 square foot facility that will house restaurants, a food court and historic horse race gambling venues.
The building is part of a $60 million facelift owners have planned at the park.
A spokesperson for Ellis says it still needs to get additional permits and COVID-19 has changed its construction schedule,
so there is no timeline for when any of the work might begin.
