This week, she spent the afternoon hurling axes at Evansville’s new axe throwing company, Plaid and Timber.
“The axes that we throw are roughly three pounds, and I know when you pick up the little two or three pound weight at the gym you kind of laugh because it’s a little weight, but when you’re throwing that thing 100-plus times in an hour, that’s a lot of repitition,” said Plaid and Timber co-owner Kyle Rickenbaugh.
According to Jessica’s Apple watch, she burned 89 calories over about 30 minutes of activity while axe throwing.
Co-owner Adam James says throwing axes doesn’t just give you a taste of fitness, but also brings a new and unusual way to have fun.
“It’s not something you do every day, and we wanted to bring that to Evansville,” said James. “It’s something fun for everyone to try.”
