Owensboro City officials are starting plans to revitalize another part of the city.
Community Development Director Abby Shelton says they’re working on plans to improve north west Owensboro, including neighborhoods between West Second Street and the Ohio River.
The plans include upgrades to homes and businesses with the help of federal grants and building a new Munday Activity Center on West Second Street.
“It’s an older area of town, has a lot of value, has a lot of worth that we want to invest and bring that back up, so residents have a sense of community, a sense of neighborhood again.”
Shelton says plans will be presented to City Commissioners by May of 2020.
