Ricky House is sentenced to 93 years in the case of Joelle Lockwood.
House was convicted in September of rape and criminal confinement in the kidnapping of Joelle Lockwood.
The sentencing came down Wednesday morning inside the Posey County Courthouse.
Eyewitness News’ Dennis Ting is inside along with members from Joelle Lockwood’s family, including her mother, who read a prepared statement to the jury.
So far, of the 14 felony charges and two misdemeanor charges, House was charged with, the judge sets aside eight of those charges, saying there was not proof beyond a reasonable doubt that gun was used on Lockwood.
The minimum sentence House could receive is 20 years, the maximum is 139.
Joelle herself was not present, but has found a way to make a statement. The judge read the jury a letter sent to him by Joelle, asking to give House the maximum penalty.
House is expected to appeal his sentence. He has 30 days to file that appeal.
