Salvation Army Captain Braving the Cold to Raise Awareness

Local News

At this time of the year, you typically see bell ringers with the Salvation Army outside stores trying to raise money to help the homeless. But one man is staying in a 5×5 ft. box out in the freezing cold.

Captain Alex Norton represents the Salvation Army in Gibson and Pike Counties. He’s living out on the street this week outside the First Financial Bank in Princeton, trying to highlight the current needs of the homeless in the region and cover a shortfall in fundraising. Norton plans to stay outside the bank until Friday night.

Eyewitness News spoke with Captain Norton about his mission and his message on homeless people.
