Salvation Army holds ‘Stuff the Bus’ for back to school


EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – This weekend you can help the Salvation Army prepare students for the new school year.

On August 3rd from 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., the Salvation Army will have buses parked at four area Walmart locations; Newburgh, Boonville, and the east and west side Walmart’s.

They need your help stuffing those buses with school supplies.

The donated supplies will be distributed to teachers throughout Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties.

“Our effort is a need that exists in the community for 7th grade through 12th graders, school supplies for them. We’re working with the teachers locker, so they teachers are going to pick up the supplies and the rest of the supplies will go to the teachers locker.”

The school supplies include, copy/printer paper, staplers, staples, loose leaf notebook paper, air fresheners, scissors, three ring notebooks, hand sanitizer, pencil pouches, crayons, lined paper, three punch, folder snacks (goldfish, fruit snacks, etc…), earbuds, dry erase markers/erasers, pens, colored pens, highlighters, pencils, colored pencils, pencil sharpeners, Kleenex, Clorox wipes, erasers, and Post It Notes (variety of colors and sizes).
