EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Salvation Army is making it easier to donate at its Red Kettles this holiday season.

They’ve introduced “Kettle Pay”, where shoppers can “bump” or scan their phones to make a digital donation.

Shoppers will be directed to a donation page that accepts Apple or Google payment options. The funds will be sent to your local Salvation Army units based on your billing zip code. And an email will be sent directly to your phone.

This is being rolled out across the country, so even if you donate while you’re away, it will still be donated to your hometown Salvation Army.

Donations are accepted at any of the more than 25,000 traditional Red Kettles found in stores and partners across the country, online at, or on your phone by texting KETTLE to 91999.

Volunteer bell ringers are needed throughout Indiana and can sign up by clicking here.
