SANTA CLAUS, Ind. (WEHT) – The town of Santa Claus says a boil advisory has been lifted in the Spencer County community.

The boil advisory was in effect for three days before being lifted Tuesday morning.

The boil advisory forced Holiday World’s soda fountains to be turned off.

“It’s not the first time it’s happened, but it rarely happens,” said President Matt Eckert.

If you’ve been to the theme park in the last decade, chances are you have taken advantage of free soft drinks on a hot day. Unending cups of Pepsi is one of Holiday World’s calling cards.

Eckert estimates between 75,000 to 100,000 cans of soda have been cracked open over the last three days.

“We’ve cleaned out several warehouses throughout the area.”
