EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says a man who fled from deputies Friday has been arrested.

27-year-old Anthony Jones was located at a home in the 1100 block of S. Harlan Ave.

According to the sheriff’s office, a K9 found Jones hiding under a camper located on the property.

Jones was then taken into custody.

Authorities took Jones to an area hospital to evaluate his injuries during the initial incident, along with the dog bites from Monday’s apprehension.

Once he’s medically released, he’ll be taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail. His charges will include felony battery and resisting law enforcement.

He’ll be held without bond, pending a court appearance.

Last Friday, deputies say they responded to an address in the Grandin Pointe neighborhood to investigate an assault. They say Jones fought with deputies during the arrest and as he was being taken to a patrol car, he ran from deputies.
