OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) — The Glenmore Distillery says they were notified Friday a second employee has tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee had not been at the distillery since March 20 and didn’t develop symptoms until last weekend when they were already out of the plant.
March 20 is the same day the distillery temporarily closed after the first employee tested positive. The building was cleaned following what distillery authorities say were guidelines from the CDC and reopened March 23.
The employee has been self-quarantining and has not been back to The Glenmore Distillery since. The distillery says based on work the employee performed on their prior shifts, no employees are required to self-quarantine per guidance from local health authorities and the CDC.
Distillery officials say they’re still operating and do not have plans to stop.
