Second Republican announces run for Illinois’ 15th Congressional District

ALTAMONT, Ill. (WEHT) – A second person has officially announced their candidacy for the 15th District Illinois Congressional seat currently held by Rep. John Shimkus.

Shimkus, a Republican, is not running for re-election.

Monday, Kerry Wolff announced he will be seeking the Republican nomination.

Wolff is a University of Illinois graduate, with 19 years in the agriculture business, 10 years in financial services, and three years in the solar power industry.

He is the current Vice President of the Altamont Unit #10 School Board.

Last week, Mary Miller officially announced that she would be seeking the Republican nomination, meaning there will be a primary challenge for the GOP.
