HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Henderson Water Utility crews have repaired a major water main break on Old Madisonville Road, south of Canoe Creek, and a boil advisory is currently in effect.

The boil advisory is in effect for the Countryview Subdivision, Old Madisonville Road from Freetown Road to Canoe Creek, Turnagain Drive, Sterling Creek Drive, Downey Drive, and Freetown Road.

HWU estimates that the advisory may be lifted sometime around 9:00 Thursday evening.

Residents should boil water for human consumption or cooking for at least 5 minutes. Un-boiled water can be safely used for bathing.

Henderson Water Utility says bacteriological samples have been taken and are being tested, and that when the samples have tested negative, the boil water advisory will be lifted.

Eyewitness News will share when the boil advisory has been lifted, on-air and online.
