A semi-truck filled with corn has overturned in Dubois County. It happened on State Road 56 on Thursday morning just before 11:30 a.m.
Dubois County Sheriff’s deputies say 51-year-old Larry Thomas, of Orange County, was driving west on SR 56 and as he exited a curve, the semi-truck overturned.
The truck slid off the southside of SR 56 and continued off the roadway, knocking down a utility pole. It finally came to a rest on its side.
Thomas was able to climb out of his truck uninjured.
A witness who was behind Thomas said the truck was not speeding.
Deputies say the corn Thomas was hauling shifted, causing the truck to overturn.
The semi-truck was totaled.
The road was partially closed for about three hours.
