(WEHT) – Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) spoke with Eyewitness News on Friday about the latest on impeachment proceedings and the coronavirus.

Sen. Durbin called the Senate’s decision to not bring forward witnesses ‘disappointing.’

Sen. Durbin said he hoped listening to testimony and hearing witnesses would give him a clearer path to his ultimate decision.

Also on Friday, Sen. Durbin said he’s been in touch with the CDC concerning a confirmed coronavirus case in Illinois.

The agency told him a woman traveling home from China is being treated in Chicago and that it spread to another person close to her.

Durbin said the woman is doing okay and is expected to recover.
