Several school districts close due to illness


OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – The flu and other illnesses have been hitting the Tri-State hard for the past few weeks, especially in western Kentucky.

Seven Tri-State school districts closed for the rest of the week, due to a high number of absences.

Webster County and Ohio County joined the list on Wednesday.

Ohio County will also miss Monday.

Officials at Owensboro and Daviess County Schools are using these days for extensive cleaning.

Owensboro Catholic will still have practices and sporting events as scheduled.

Hancock County and South Spencer also closed for the rest of the week.

Students there will utilize E-Learning Days to make up the work.
