As we move into the evening hours, a cold front still off to the west as of this post, will be moving into our region this evening. As it does, the severe weather risk will increase across the Tri-State.
All of the Tri-State is at a level 3 enhanced risk across the area. Severe storms, with tornado warnings, have began to develop in Arkansas, near the boot-hill of Missouri. These storms are the ones that will be affecting the Tri-State this evening.
Also, low-level winds are expected to pick up soon across the Tri-State, which will aid in the development and possible severity of our storms.
Storms look to be moving into southern Illinois around 7 this evening, Evansville around 8, and exiting our far eastern counties by 10. There could be a little redevelopment of some storms as the cold front itself moves through just after midnight.
Updated forecasts will be on ABC 25 at 6 & 10 and on CW 7 at 6:30 & 9.
