EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A sewer line project could cause some major traffic issues along Veterans Memorial Parkway.

On July 31st at 2:00 a.m., contractors will begin installing a 54-inch sewer pipe at the Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant.

As a result, crews will be working with heavy equipment on Veterans Memorial Parkway, just east of Waterworks Road.

Lining crews will be working around the clock. Other contractors will be working from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., until the project is complete.

Most of the work will be in the eastbound, outside lane of Veterans Memorial Parkway, where traffic is down to one lane.

But construction will affect eastbound and westbound lanes on Veterans Memorial Parkway, with crews working in a work zone in the median.

The posted speed limit will be reduced to 30 mph in the construction zone.

EPD will increase patrol along Veterans Memorial Parkway.

The project is expected to take about four weeks, weather permitting.
