NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) – Sharon Elementary’s end of year celebration looked a bit different this year. The usual pomp and circumstance was replaced with a drive-through pick-up line.
Teachers passed out lunches and items left behind in lockers and classrooms to students. Summer lesson plans were also handed out.
“Today is great because we actually get to see their smiling faces. Even seeing them on the computer is not the same. some of the kids are practically climbing out the windows just wanting to hug their teacher of course we’re not doing that but today is great because we actually get to see them and interact with them,” said Principal Ashley Bruggenschmidt.
Students also dropped off homework, library book rentals, and textbooks.
