DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – Two men are facing charges after The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office said a dispute led to shots fired.

Deputies responded to the 4900 block of Old Hartford Road on Tuesday.

Deputies said 58-year-old James Phillip Arnold III, of Owensboro, told 25-year-old Samuel Burden, of Calhoun, to leave the property after he showed up to work under the influence.

Deputies said Burden was later found in a barn and Arnold told him to leave again. Authorities believe when Burden was going down the driveway, he turned and appeared that he was coming back.

Deputies said Arnold then fired a shot to scare him off. No one was injured but both men were arrested.

Burden was charged with public intoxication and Arnold was charged with wanton endangerment.
