Signature School student named as finalist in math and science talent search

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and the Society for Science & the Public announced 40 finalists in the Regeneron Science Talent Search. One of those finalists is a Signature School student.

Ankush Dhawan is a finalist in one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competitions for high school seniors.

Dhawan’s project was titled “An Improved Method for Trace Level Arsenic Quantification in Water.”

According to Regeneron, Dhawan’s project developed a method to detect trace levels of arsenic in water at a much lower cost than currently available.

Each finalist will receive $25,000 and travel to Washington D.C. from March 5-11, where they will undergo a judging process to compete for more than $1.8 million in awards.
