Small Business Saturday to happen despite COVID-19 pandemic

EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) The Economic Improvement District is celebrating small businesses at the end of May.

On May 30, downtown stores and restaurants will be open and offering specials throughout the day. Individual stores will be distributing free tote bags courtesy of the EID that were specially designed for the event. The bags feature a Wildflowers design by Downtown Evansville resident artist Andrew Cooper. Live music will also take place along Main Street as guests stroll from shop to shop.

Businesses have implemented recommended safety protocols to reopen. These include employees wearing face masks and asking customers to wear a mask upon entry, hand sanitizers, social distancing floor markers, limiting capacity at locations, temperature checks and other efforts.
