FRENCH LICK, Ind. (WEHT) — Indiana State Police say a Celestine man walked away from a plane crash with no injuries.

It happened around 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

A preliminary investigation showed that the 1962 Piper Cherokee single-engine, fixed-wing airplane crashed when approaching to land on Runway 8 at French Lick Airport.

Officials say the pilot, 70-year-old Johnnie Bush, was the only person on board the single-engine plane and was not hurt.

The investigation remains ongoing. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
