NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) – Morton Solar and Electric announced a solar parking canopy project for Orthopaedic Associates in Newburgh.

The project consists of three solar parking canopies to be installed at the Orthopaedic Associates and Deaconess Urgent Care facilities.

Parking canopies offer the benefit of keeping vehicles cool and shaded in the summer and shielding them from snow and ice in the winter.

The combined solar and led lighting project is projected to make the facility a net-zero energy building on a yearly basis.

“It’s a pretty large project. This will be the first facility that is net-zero, which means it’s producing as much energy as it’s consuming in the region. So, we’re pretty proud of that.”

The project is set to be finished some time this year.
