BOONVILLE, IN (WEHT) – Before they even walked across the stage, two Boonville High School senoirs got the surprise of a lifetime.
The Mofields haven’t seen their brother since Christmas because he is in the army.
What they didn’t know on Saturday was that he was much closer than they thought.
One by one, the Mofield family found their graduation day miracle.
Graduates Felica and Edward never saw it coming.
“I thought ‘it’s 8:15 so maybe we’re lining up…..I was very confused,” said Felica.
“I was just like getting ready for graduation and I see him in the corner and I’m like, I’m surprised. […] “I’m just like whoa,” said Edward.
It was a surprise that almost never happened, thanks to SnapChat.
“I got curious to where he was, so I looked on SnapMaps. Didn’t see the location so I was kind of confused,” said Felica.
But thanks to Private Mofield’s careful planning …
“I told everyone I wouldn’t be able to make it, but like send me a video,”
He flew in undercover ….
“Essentially no one knew except for my uncle.”
And surprised Grandma, Mom, Edward and Felica.
“Honestly, I was just really wanting him here, like, the one person I really wanted to be here… and it happened.”
He says he wouldn’t have missed this day for anything.
“You only graduate from high school once every lifetime. So I was like. I can’t miss this. I have to be here for it.”
Private Mofield is also a graduate of Boonville High School. He walked across that same stage in 2016.
