Some Evansville residents express frustration over changes to heavy trash pick-up

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The annual fall heavy trash pick-up in Evansville will kick off next week, but this year there are some changes that some people aren’t happy about.

One of those changes includes only picking up five big items, like furniture and appliances.

Eyewitness News has received complaints about the changes, with people saying that if the city doesn’t pick up all the items then it will just end up in someone’s yard or on the side of the road.

Evansville Water and Sewer Utility Deputy Director Ed Ziemer talked about the changes on ABC25 Local Lifestyles on Friday morning.

All items being picked up must fit in a trash truck.

Trash pick-up will run August 12-October 18.

To find out your pick-up day, call EWSU or go to their website.
