EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – One day after a social media post led to increased police presence at the mall, the mall appears to continue to be operating normally but some stores are still closed.
On Tuesday, the Evansville Police Department increased its presence at the mall and mall officials said they planned for business as usual.
Tuesday afternoon, an Eyewitness News employee was at the mall and said there were four uniformed police officers in the mall and around nine stores appeared to be closed.
It’s not clear why those stores were closed.
On Wednesday, another Eyewitness News employee was at Eastland Mall.
They said around the same number of stores appeared to be closed on Wednesday as were closed on Tuesday.
However, there was no longer a heightened police presence.
All of the kiosks appeared open and attended to on Wednesday.
