INDIANAPOLIS (WEHT) – The Southridge Raiders suffered a heartbreaker on Tuesday night after losing to Alexandria Monroe 4-3 in the IHSAA Class 2A State Championship in baseball at Victory Field in Indianapolis.
The Raiders started off the game strong by taking a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning after Ethan Bell hit into a fielder’s choice. Southridge extended its lead in the 4th inning off of Joe LaGrange’s double followed by a hit by Conner Oxley.
Alexandria Monroe would cut the lead to 3-2 in the 6th inning and score the winning two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning.
This was the second straight trip to the Class 2A State Championship for Southridge.
