Spat between Gov. Bevin, Lt. Gov. Hampton goes to court

Local News

KENTUCKY (WEHT) – A spat between Kentucky’s governor and lieutenant governor goes to court.

Gov. Matt Bevin’s General Counsel told a judge that a legal fight over a staffing dispute is a quote minor disagreement between friends.

Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton tells reporters that her friends don’t treat her that way.

Attorneys for both Bevin and Hampton were in court for a hearing to restore Hampton’s staffers to their jobs.

Her aides were let go by Bevin’s administration without her consent.
This lawsuit comes as Bevin is seeking re-election in November and Bevin dropped her from his ticket earlier this year.
