HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The city of Rockport confirmed Mayor Don Winkler passed away Monday morning following a heart attack he had suffered over the weekend.
Officials say funeral arrangements are pending at Boultinghouse Funeral Home.
The city says the council president will serve as the defacto town leader until the local Republican party can caucus for a new mayor.
According to the funeral home, services are 11 a.m. April 22 at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Officials say visitation is 12 p.m. until 8 p.m., April 21, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
