State fire marshals investigate fire at Daviess County Fire Department

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – The investigation continues into a lightning strike that led to a fire at the Daviess County Fire Department.

It happened just before 7 p.m. Tuesday at the station on Highway 54, just east of Owensboro.

Firefighters said sparks started coming out of electric boxes after it happened, and a fire started in the attic.

Firefighters started putting it out and were helped by three other departments.

State fire marshals are expected to investigate the incident.
