DUBOIS COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – People in Dubois County will soon have access to a range of new mental health services.

Crossroads Behavioral Health Hospital opens in Huntingburg at the end of the month. It’s in the Old St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Doctors say it’s a state-of-the-art geriatric hospital focused on psychiatric care.

Most patients will stay in the hospital for one to two weeks.

Doctors will focus on mental health in seniors with depression, anxiety and more.

“People are having longer lives. Life expectancy is growing. We just want to provide our seniors a place where they can be well taken care of, they are loved, and they feel at home.”

The building has been empty since St. Joseph’s Hospital closed in 2007.

Crossroads has 16 beds and is planning an expansion.
