OWENSBORO, Ky (WEHT) – State Senator Matt Castlen (R-Owensboro) was presented the 2019 “Friend of Kentucky Cities” award at Tuesday night’s Owensboro Board of Commissioners meeting.
Sen. Castlen sponsored Senate Bill 148, a KLC initiative that allows cities to utilize the Local Government Model Procurement Code to dispose of surplus property in the same manner as other cities.
Sen. Castlen stressed the important role cities play in the commonwealth, saying, “The success of our state begins with local communities, and I believe that passing good legislation that gives our cities the ability to grow and thrive is crucial. I’m honored to represent all the cities in my district, and I will continue to support legislation that benefits the 8th District and the commonwealth as a whole.”
