PERRY CO., Ind (WEHT) Indiana State Police say Trooper Jeremy Galloway has resigned the day after he was arrested on arson charges.

Galloway was arrested Tuesday and charged with arson, insurance fraud, and intent to defraud. The charges are in connection with a fire at his home late last year. On Thursday, animal cruelty charges were also added.

The fire happened on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at approximately 1:40 a.m. Two dogs died in the fire.

The house and an outbuilding sustained heavy smoke and fire damage, including the total destruction of two motorcycles.

Investigators said it was quickly determined that two separate structure fires had been started on the property.
