Stolen cannon returned, man facing charges in other burglaries

Local News

(WEHT) — Tell City, Indiana police announced Friday they’ve charged a Kentucky man in connection to multiple burglaries.

On Thursday, police worked with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office to solve multiple burglaries that occurred at St. Mark’s Church and the Tell City Moose Lodge.

Officers have charged Courtney Warner, 42, of Hardinsburg, Kentucky, with multiple counts of burglary and theft. They later learned Mr. Warner had recently been incarcerated in the Crawford County Detention Center on similar charges.

During the investigation of those burglaries, detectives found the cannon that was reported stolen from the Cannelton Legion in February. Police recovered the cannon and returned it to the Legion.

Multiple agencies are working together in an effort to finalize details and present charges for burglary and theft of the cannon.
