Storm sewer project at Akin Park stirs up complaints

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The storm sewer improvement project at Akin Park in Evansville has stirred up multiple dust complaints.

The three-million-dollar project along East Park Avenue started in June.

The project is designed to help prevent future flooding in the area.

It will also improve the city’s storm water system.

But not without creating a little mess.

Luckily, contractors say they have found a solution.

“Projects in this size in nature as you can see, we got a lot of rock. A Lot of dirt being excavated so dirt is always a concern. We’re taking measures. Watering and sweeping the streets things of that nature to keep that to a minimum.”

People with questions or concerns about the project can contact United Consulting Contractors by calling 812- 431-2376.
