Students in Owensboro learn to build roller coasters

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – A group at iMiddle are building roller coasters this week.

This project lets students learn about the engineering that goes into building a real life one.

They used marbles to test their tracks.

Students say they enjoyed building them and discovered a lot about what it takes to make those thrilling rides.

“It’s pretty fun so far because I always wanted to build a roller coaster, building it and having fun with friends.”

“We did the loop on the roller coaster, that was a little different because we had to tape it a certain way, and if you didn’t tape it a certain way, then it would go off the track and get crazy.”

The roller coaster will be judged by officials at Kentucky Kingdom Theme Park in Louisville.
