OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WEHT) – According to an economic impact study released by Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI), Oakland City University accounts for $44 million of the $5.4 billion annual impact that Indiana’s 30 private, non-profit colleges and universities have on Indiana’s economy.

The study focused on ICI’s 30 member colleges and universities.

The study found that the university produced $8 million in tax revenue from faculty, staff, and students and $25 million in direct institutional expenditures.

President Ron D. Dempsey said, “OCU is committed to serving our students and providing them a top quality educational experience in a Christian environment, but we also are proud to call Indiana home and of the economic impact our university has on our state and our SW Indiana region.”
