Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Jeremy Johnston, owner of Goodfellas Barbershop in Evansville, proposed to his wife of 23 years in front of America on live television at a Chicago Cubs game over the weekend.

Johnston and his wife, Beth got married at a young age and didn’t have the money to do it the way he would have liked; with a proposal, wedding, reception, honeymoon, the works.

He had always promised he would make it up to her and he did, starting with a proposal, a big proposal that has now gone viral.

Eyewitness News’ Kelly Austin spoke with the groom to get the whole romantic story.

The story will have a happy ending in December when the lovebirds renew their wedding vows.

In all the excitement and his newfound fame Johnston did, however, have one issue that he felt he needed to address.
