OHIO COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – A school was put on lockdown after reports of a suspect possibly armed with a handgun and knife making threats.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident Tuesday in Fordsville.

According to deputies, the caller told dispatch the suspect was armed and going toward Fordsville Elementary School.

The school was put on lockdown and deputies arrived to help with the incident.

The suspect was apprehended at the Jumping Jack’s Store parking lot.

After an investigation, deputies discovered the suspect was armed with a knife, but did not make any threats toward the school.

The lockdown was lifted.
