Sutton Elem. student donates hair to Locks of Love

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) An Owensboro student makes a very important donation to help children battling cancer and other diseases.

Hampton Gaddis, a 3rd grader at Sutton Elementary, had ten inches of her hair cut off Friday afternoon. It’s being donated to Locks of Love. where it will be made into wigs for children going through medical treatment. She says she did it to support a friend who was diagnosed with cancer.
“I thought it’d be really nice for somebody to do something like this,” Gaddis said after her haircut. “it was a little bit nerve wracking, but it was O.K. I loved it.”

Gaddis said she had been growing her hair since last summer.
