EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) —  An SUV crashes into a home early Tuesday morning in Evansville, ending up in the homeowner’s living room.

The crash happened around midnight in the 4400 block of Smythe Drive on Evansville’s east side, near Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

According to a neighbor, the driver of the SUV was apparently trying to pull into their garage, and instead — wound up crashing through the neighbor’s wall.

There were two people in that home at the time.

A man was in the living room, and ended up trapped under the vehicle for a short time.

He was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

A woman in the home was not hurt.

Crews were finally able to pull the vehicle out Tuesday morning just after 2.

Because the crash destroyed an entire wall, firefighters installed bracing to help prevent a collapse.
