Dr. Bashar Mourad is presenting a lecture on the Syrian refugee crisis on Thursday.
Entitled “21st Century Holocaust? The Syrian Conflict and its Human Cost,” the lecture takes place at Aldersgate United Methodist Church on Lincoln Avenue in Evansville.
The lecture starts at 7 p.m. and it’s free and open to the public.
Dr. Mourad was born and raised in Syria and graduated from medical school in Damascus University in 1986.
He came to the United States in 1989 and trained in internal medicine in Chicago and in nephrology (kidney disease) in Houston at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Bashar has lived with his wife and their children in the Tri-State area since 1997.
