EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — With Halloween right around the corner, the Teal Pumpkin Project is in full swing. The project raises awareness of children dealing with food allergy conditions and for the holiday to be more inclusive.
The Food Allergy Research and Education group, or FARE, encourages homeowners to put a teal pumpkin on their door step. The pumpkin alerts families that there are non-food treats, such as small toys, available to kids.
FARE also encourages those participating to add their house to an interactive map on their website.
