TELL CITY, Ind. (WEHT) – Tell City-Troy Township Schools honored its graduates on Friday night with a special celebration. Seniors participated in a parade with decorated cars through the city.

After the parade, graduates met in Hagedorn Park for fireworks. School leaders and the community wanted to make the event special.

“We had the streets lined with God, and everybody came out, said John Sciold, Tell City-Troy Townships Schools superintendent. “Cars were decorated, signs up for these kids, they didn’t get to walk across the stage, but these seniors got more respect and more attention this year than I think we’ve ever given a senior before because of the situation they’ve found themselves in.”

Scioldo says the school district spent a month planning the festivities.
